Georges Dayez (1907-1991) - France :

Georges DAYEZ is a French painter of the “Nouvelle Ecole de Paris”. After the Liberation, he exhibits at the Salon d’automne beside Picasso, Matisse, Léger, Bonnard and Braque.  At the first Salon de Mai he exhibits his first painting (Figure assise).

This work was painted in his new atelier of Pré-Saint-Gernais and acquired by the Musée national d’art modern which has been opened by Jean Cassou, together with Bernard Dorival.

In 1976 and 1978 The “Monnaie de Paris” edits two medals created by Dayez.
